The Millennial investors taking on the ‘stockmarket boys’ club’

Sometimes investing in the sharemarket can be about more than making money.

Melbourne mates Sophie Dicker and Maddy Guest, both 25, are building long-term portfolios consisting mainly of blue-chip Australian stocks and a range of exchange-traded funds for global exposure.

Asked why they started investing over the past two to three years, Sophie and Maddy give the same answer: they want to achieve financial independence.
